3. Your landlord and the law

June 25 @ 18:3021:00

Virtual Event Virtual Event
This event is part of a ten-session training series designed to help social housing residents understand their rights, how to stand up for them, and get better treatment and services from landlords.
This session aims to provide residents with a clear understanding of the key legal obligations that your housing provider must adhere to. While it does not provide detailed legal advice, it will outline the essential areas of compliance and the records that should be maintained to safeguard your rights. In this session, we will discuss:
  • The legal requirements that social housing providers must comply with
  • The types of records they are obligated to keep and why they are important
  • The process for handling complaints and how your concerns are addressed
  • The principles of confidentiality and the protection of your personal information
The session will include a mix of presentations and group discussions. We may use breakout rooms, and we’ll let you know at the start if that’s the case. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to share your experiences, ask questions, and connect with others. Closed captions will be enabled.
Please note that to receive the link to join the session, as well as all relevant documents, you need to “Book a place” using the link below.  Just adding it to your calendar is not enough.
