Service charges for leaseholders

September 25 @ 14:3016:00

Virtual Event

This webinar is designed to help leaseholders understand their rights and responsibilities regarding service charges. It will explain what service charges are, what they typically cover, and how they are calculated. The session will also explore the legal framework governing service charges, including lease terms and relevant legislation such as the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.

Participants will learn how to interpret their lease, understand annual budgets and accounts, and identify when charges may be unreasonable or challengeable. The webinar will outline the process for disputing service charges, including taking a case to the First-tier Tribunal, and will offer practical advice on how to engage with landlords and managing agents. It will also consider the current government proposed changes to strengthen leaseholder protections over charges and services.

There’ll be plenty of opportunity for discussion and for your questions. Session is open to all social housing residents, but is particularly aimed at leaseholders. Closed captions will be enabled.
Please note that to receive the link to join the session, as well as all relevant documents, you need to “Book a place” using the link below. Just adding it to your calendar is not enough.
