Energy efficiency and net zero

January 29 @ 15:0016:30

This session will cover what landlords should be doing and what residents can be doing to improve the energy efficiency of their homes and work towards the net zero target.

We’ll outline where the government is at in terms of its plans around minimum energy efficiency standards in the social housing sector in England. We’ll have a range of speakers who will talk about the work that they are doing around energy efficiency, how’s it going, and what they’ve learnt. After the presentations, there will be time for questions and we’ll host a conversation where people can share thoughts and experiences, outline where and how they feel able to have an influence, how important it is to them, and what they feel would best work for them, their neighbours and their communities. We’ll also signpost to some useful resources for residents or groups who want to learn more.

Our speakers are:

Steve Martin – Customer Scrutiny Officer at Midland Heart who have been recognised for their work around energy efficiency and the impact it has made to the lives of their residents.

Stephen Mackenzie – an involved tenant on retrofit/energy efficiency, who has contributed to numerous projects and reports in this area; Homes and Environment champion for Yorkshire Housing; and a member of the Northern Housing Coalition Climate Change Jury.
