Awaab’s Law (from Oct 27th): New rules to tackle damp and mould
September 18 @ 19:30 – 21:00
As part of our monthly webinar series supporting social housing residents, this webinar will explain Awaab’s Law and what it means for your rights.
From October 27th, 2025, a new law — known as Awaab’s Law — will come into force to protect residents from unsafe housing conditions. At first, it will make sure that landlords act quickly to fix damp and mould, setting strict legal timeframes for repairs.
But this is just the start. In the months ahead, Awaab’s Law will also bring in deadlines for tackling other serious hazards that can put health and safety at risk — such as electrical dangers, fire safety, structural issues and excessive cold or heat
This webinar is designed for residents who want to understand their new rights and what to expect as the law is rolled out. We’ll cover:
- What Awaab’s Law is and why it was introduced
- The new rules landlords must follow from October 27th
- How it protects you if you report damp, mould, or other hazards in your home
- What further changes to expect as Awaab’s Law expands
- Where to go for support if repairs are not carried out on time
- Examples of best practice from landlords, sharing what they are doing now to prepare and ensure safe, healthy homes for residents
There’ll be plenty of opportunity for discussion and for your questions. Session is open to all social housing residents. Closed captions will be enabled.
Please note that to receive the link to join the session, as well as all relevant documents, you need to “Book a place” using the link below. Just adding it to your calendar is not enough.
