Access to information: your rights under STAIRS

December 15 @ 14:0015:30

Virtual Event

The new Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRS) will give social housing residents stronger rights to request information from their landlord — similar to Freedom of Information. Although these duties are not yet in force, the government has confirmed they will be introduced, and we want to make sure residents are informed early.

Join us for a one-hour introduction to what STAIRS is, what it aims to change, and how it could strengthen transparency, accountability and your ability to challenge decisions.

In this session we’ll cover:
– What STAIRS is and why it’s being introduced
– The types of information residents will be able to request
– How it is expected to work in practice once implemented
– What landlords’ responsibilities will be
– How these rights could support complaints, scrutiny and resident-led challenge
– What residents can do now to prepare

A straightforward, accessible session to help you understand this important upcoming right and what it could mean for you.

There’ll be plenty of opportunity for discussion and for your questions. Session is open to all social housing residents. Closed captions will be enabled.

Please note that to receive the link to join the session, as well as all relevant documents, you need to “Book a place” using the link below.
