Energy efficiency: your rights to a warm, healthy and affordable home
December 11 @ 14:30 – 16:00
Join us for a practical session on what you are entitled to as a social housing resident — and what your landlord must do to provide a warm, safe and energy-efficient home. We’ll explore the key rights that protect you, the responsibilities landlords hold around repairs, damp and mould, heating systems and retrofit works, and the everyday steps residents can take to manage energy use safely and effectively.
What we’ll cover:
– Your rights to a warm, safe and well-maintained home — and how to use them
– What landlords must do: EPC standards, repairs, ventilation, damp and mould duties, and upcoming energy-efficiency requirements
– Resident responsibilities around reporting issues, ventilation and safe heating use
– Practical low-cost ways to reduce energy use and stay warm
– How heating, ventilation and insulation should work in your building
– Understanding and preventing damp, condensation and mould
– Where to get financial support, advice and further help
There’ll be plenty of opportunity for discussion and for your questions. Session is open to all social housing residents. Closed captions will be enabled.
