Awaab’s Law – new rules to tackle damp and mould

This webinar explains Awaab’s Law and what it means for your rights. From 27 October 2025, a new law — known as Awaab’s Law — will come into force to protect residents from unsafe housing conditions. At first, it will make sure that landlords act quickly to fix damp and mould, setting strict legal timeframes for repairs.

But this is just the start. In the months ahead, Awaab’s Law will also bring in deadlines for tackling other serious hazards that can put health and safety at risk — such as electrical dangers, fire safety, structural issues and excessive cold or heat.

This webinar is designed for residents who want to understand their new rights and what to expect as the law is rolled out. We’ll cover:

  • What Awaab’s Law is and why it was introduced
  • The new rules landlords must follow from October 27th
  • How it protects you if you report damp, mould, or other hazards in your home
  • Examples of best practice from landlords, sharing what they are doing now to prepare and ensure safe, healthy homes for residents

Speakers

  • Paul Kelly, CCH associate and Four Million Homes trainer
  • Jenny Spoor, Director of Operations, Havebury Housing Partnership
