SUMMARY:New proposals for decent and warm homes - Decent Homes and Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards explained
DESCRIPTION:In 2025\, the UK government is asking for views on changes to the Decent Homes Standard (DHS) and Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) for social and private rented homes. These consultations\, open until 10 September 2025\, aim to improve the quality and energy efficiency of homes—especially focusing on things like condition and warmth. The proposed changes include stricter rules on building repairs\, preventing damp and mould\, and making homes more energy efficient by aiming for an EPC rating of C or better \nWe’re holding an information session to help explain what the consultations are about and how you can share your views.
